After defeating Mozambique in the second round of qualifiers, Ghana will face DR Congo for a place in the 2023 Africa U23 Cup of Nations.
Black Meteors advanced to the final round 4-1 on aggregate after winning 2-1 in Maputo last week and 2-0 in Kumasi on Sunday.
Daniel Afriyie Barnieh of Hearts of Oak scored both goals in Maputo, and he scored again in the second leg, following Sylvester Simba’s opener for the Black Meteors.
Barnieh, who is expected to make Ghana’s World Cup squad in Qatar in 2022, was clinical from 12 yards out, as all three goals were penalties.

The team of coach Ibrahim Tanko will face DR Congo, who defeated Algeria 5-4 on aggregate in the second round. DR Congo defeated Algeria 4-1 at home in the first leg, which proved crucial after being defeated 3-1 in the second leg on Sunday.
The final round of games will take place in March 2023, with the tournament taking place in Morocco in June.
