The Ghana Revenue Authority has closed the Game shopping centre in Accra Mall for failing to comply with the E-VAT Invoicing system.
This brings the total number of shops and supermarkets seized by the tax collector to ten since Monday.
Major retailers such as Palace Mall and China Mall have also gone out of business.
Following consultation with the mall’s management in South Africa, all customers making purchases at the time of the visit were asked to leave.
The GRA has stated that it will not stop working to ensure compliance with its electronic invoicing system.
Speaking to the media earlier, Kwasi Eghan, Deputy Commissioner of Operations in charge of the GRA’s Domestic Tax Revenue Division, expressed optimism that all would be well.
